Care of Your Jewellery
All our products are of the very finest craftsmanship and quality and it is important to look after them in an appropriate fashion. Jewellery is delicate and by its nature susceptible to damage and requires treating with suitable care. To enable you to derive maximum pleasure from your purchase we recommend the following:

  • avoid applying any form of constant pressure, particularly while wearing delicate items, for example in situations such as sleeping,
  • avoid wearing during activities that might result in items being caught or pulled suddenly, such as vigorous sports or pastimes such as gardening,
  • ensure jewellery is stored properly when not in use.

To minimise the risk of tarnishing place in a dark place when not in use. We do not recommend jewellery is exposed to chemicals or additives, for example those used in swimming pools. Perfume, body creams and perspiration may also affect jewellery, causing discolouration, particularly silver.
If tarnishing occurs, we suggest the use of a good proprietary cleaning agent, washing in weak soapy water, rinsing and drying well followed by careful polishing with a silver cloth. Regular buffing with a good polishing cloth is also helpful.
Pearls and gemstones should not be dipped or washed other than by an expert. Similarly, all products should not be sprayed with perfume, which is acidic, since this could damage them permanently.
We do not promote the use of self-acting electrolytic cleaning plates (or tin foil) with soda crystals in hot water as a method for cleaning silver. Although this method can bring excellent results for silver, it can damage glass beads, pearls and other findings.
